Within the confines of this little cyber-world, you will encounter mind boggling facts (doubtful), side splitting humor (more doubtful), artifacts of great historical significance (we have a lot of old family photos to bore you with), and maybe you will even come across some genuine German/Canadian stuff

(Got your curiosity up, eh?!?)

Of the nine in this family, I am the Canadian. I am out numbered 9 to 1 by Americans. The odds are still in my favor. I am after all, "The Father." Join me on our wonderful journey.

Cracker Fun

Recently we recieved a call from one of the cattlemen around here, about a whip-popping contest/rodeo. It sounded like fun, so some of us signed up, and headed to Kissimmee for some good ole' Cracker fun!!!
Emma gets a little practice in before the contest
The gals
"Wild West Kathy"
Kitty did great! We were not used to popping on concrete, so no one did their best, but it was fun anyway!!
Me-popping
Go Sparky Markie!!!
Rattlesnake Pete, using his whips
2 whips in one hand! (Show off);)
I thought this was a neat picture
The poor, poor judges.
I'd hate to have to judge these contests
Us kids with Mr. Barber. Mr Barber has made each of the whips we own. He has been recovering from cancer, so we were thrilled to see him up and about!
Mama and her little gals with some real Florida art
The boys
Rosie Posie
The helping hand of a big sister
Look at that little girl with that big whip!!!
Even Mama got in on the action...with a little mishap
None of us ended up winning the contest, but it was a whole lot of fun anyway!!
On the way home, where else would we stop, than Sonny's!!
"Let's see...SWEEET tea, more SWEET tea...and...UNsweet tea..."
Markie and I got our snack
Mandy looks...disturbed
Let me out of here!!!
Actual quote
With no opportunity of escape, she decided to join us.
Awwww....

You all keep me laughing! Especially when Amanda is involved! Markie looks like she has already had a dozen donuts and is on a sugar high!
You all looked great out there with your whips!! Like such ladies :) Pete looked good too.
I'd probably end up like your Mama in her picture if I tried the whip!!

Love you all and I am so proud of you all!

Are we going to see any pictures of your visit with the Millers??? I guess there won't be any pictures from your visit with the Franklins, since you didn't visit the Franklins :( Maybe next time. We love and miss you guys!

Look at those Florida Crackers doing what they do best! We would have loved to watch!
We need to share the "Florida Cracker" whip popping experience with the locals here, just a few hours east of Oklahoma in home-school friendly (the people are, the laws aren't) Arkansas.

I think this blog might become the "Battle of the States"!

Hmmm . . . . "Battle of the States" -- that's what seems to be running beneath the surface around here! Ummm, Florida . . . no, Arkansas . . . don't forget Missouri! Oh, wait, here comes a newcomer! Oklahoma! Well, why not New Hampshire -- "Live Free or Die!" Or Iowa. Or Colorado. " . . . I have learned, in whatsoever STATE I am, therewith to be content!" (Phil 4:11b) (No, this is not chiding, just thought things were getting interesting!)

For those who have never seen them, those whip-poppers are great! I am glad I wasn't there, though. Those boys make me nervous enough, and the girls downright fray my nerves! What a great testimony opportunity it has been for the girls to do their popping wearing skirts, in front of 100's. It never fails that someone comments with appreciation at what special, lovely girls they are.

Thanks everyone for the sweet comments!

Amanda - yeah...your fake sleeping isn't really that convincing ;)But it was fun anyway.

Molly - I have tried whip popping exactly 2 times...too many! Glad the kids can do that "job" if we ever need it done!

You are so funny, Kellipaige! Maybe next time.

Katie - you mean you haven't done any popping up there? We'll just have to remedy that the next time we come up!

Mama, you are right. They girls are always able to be a testimony to our Lord when they do whip popping!

Thanks, Ashley! WE think those pigtails are mighty cute too!

Jess, welcome to our blog! We took a look at your sweet blog. Praise the Lord for the godly young people He is raising up all over this nation! Love the bluegrass!
