Within the confines of this little cyber-world, you will encounter mind boggling facts (doubtful), side splitting humor (more doubtful), artifacts of great historical significance (we have a lot of old family photos to bore you with), and maybe you will even come across some genuine German/Canadian stuff

(Got your curiosity up, eh?!?)

Of the nine in this family, I am the Canadian. I am out numbered 9 to 1 by Americans. The odds are still in my favor. I am after all, "The Father." Join me on our wonderful journey.

Our New Blog!

Eddie has our new blog up and running. It needs tweaking but he has posted our first post! I think the new blog looks great!

He called it...

"The Promised Land Eh?"

The first post features our Mama Highland Cow, Bree, with her new baby bull calf.

Before we moved to Missouri, people would ask us why were we leaving Florida of all places - the land of sunshine - and moving to Missouri? (or" misery"- as they would often say)

There were many reasons for moving and when we would "extol the virtues of Missouri" we were often teased about MO being "The Promised Land".

Anyone who has been here can attest to the fact that it is indeed not the promised land (right, Michael?).

While we do love it and enjoy the many benefits to living here, we can honestly say that the only reason we moved was the fact that this is where the Lord wants us, so I guess in that respect, it is indeed...

"The Promised Land, Eh?"

A Very Happy Birthday for Sarah Beth

Today a very special young man asked to court Sarah Beth.

We have known Michael Doolin for around 8 or 9 years. We have watched him grow in "wisdom and stature".  We could say that he's really grown in stature (he's very tall!), but we could honestly say that he has grown that much in godly wisdom and character as well.

We are happy for them and couldn't ask for a finer young man to court our dear Sarah Beth. We pray that they will enjoy this week together and that the Lord will direct their every step as they seek His will in the matter.

Older and wiser...

Wishing a very happy birthday to my
fantastic Daddy!

We've made so many memories together

He enjoys his grandchildren!

This one's for you, Daddy. Your little sweethearts :)

Always ready to laugh with those he loves!

And mentor them in the ways of the Lord

 He loves his home-baked goodies!

And he loves to enjoy the great outdoors with his family!

He's a "fun grandfather"!!!

Keeping family traditions alive...

A good Berean - he searches out the scriptures

And after 45 years he's still in love with his one and only

Fellowshipping while enjoying God's creation
Enjoying a good joke. Does this joke have anything to do with a muffler?

Making time for the little ones

Faithful pastor for more than 25 years
Another landmark moment

Trips in the RV are always a pleasure with Granddaddy and Grandmother

He's been known to make some great breakfasts!

Fellowshipping around food - a family tradition :)

Looking up to Granddaddy already...
Yes, folks, as young as he seems he does wear the spectacles occasionally

My father, the faithful sightseer and sign reader!

Little buddies!

Always ready for a challenge!

Lovin' those babies!

He so enjoys getting in some good physical labor! Here he is milling with Eddie and Chris and Pete.

More fellowship...more food!

It's always hard to say goodbye to him

And his hat - although sometimes he leaves it as a little memento :)

I love you, Daddy, and so very much appreciate your godly wisdom and leadership. I also appreciate your giving us a love for history and for the great outdoors. Thank you for giving us a good work ethic and appreciation for the value of money. Thanks for always being ready to laugh and enjoy life! Most of all, thank you for being faithful to the wife of your youth, your family, and your Lord.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Beth
