Within the confines of this little cyber-world, you will encounter mind boggling facts (doubtful), side splitting humor (more doubtful), artifacts of great historical significance (we have a lot of old family photos to bore you with), and maybe you will even come across some genuine German/Canadian stuff

(Got your curiosity up, eh?!?)

Of the nine in this family, I am the Canadian. I am out numbered 9 to 1 by Americans. The odds are still in my favor. I am after all, "The Father." Join me on our wonderful journey.

Christians...at the Crossroads

Last week our family attended the "Christians at the Crossroads" conference in Georgia, which brought us just an hour or so away from my precious Aunt and Uncle.

The Lord used Uncle Biff and Aunt Jeanne to bring Eddie and me together. I guess we sure owe them a lot :)
They hosted us ALL for supper the night before the conference!

The tables were lovely.
The food was delicious.
The fellowship was perfect.

Emma and Savannah always find a way to have fun!

CHRISTIANS... AT THE CROSSROADS

A conference which enlightened our family and refocused our vision.

We in America are truly at a crossroads. We are all aware that this out of control spending of fiat currency cannot last forever. We are financially and morally bankrupt and under God's judgement, yet as Christians, what is the "next step"?
At this inspiring convention, we were very much encouraged in this area.

A few things we brought away from this conference were to...
  • Plan as a family for the future - both physically and spiritually. Have goals as a family in order to be proactive in confronting our culture for Christ
  • Train our children (and ourselves!) to think beyond an entertainment based lifestyle - encourage a productive lifestyle instead
  • Even and especially in the face of disaster, we have opportunities to impact our society for the kingdom of God
  • Children are a blessing from the Lord and the arrows that we send into the future for His kingdom
  • Encourage our daughters, to give her heart, her time, and her talents to her father and his vision, and she will be ready to do the same for her dear husband
  • Encourage our sons to be ready for marraige with a 200 year plan for his own progeny
  • Ensure that all entertainment is compatable with the vision God has given our family and not detracting from it
  • Encourage siblings to work together in harmony

"Where there is no vision, the people perish..." Prov. 29:18

In the event of an economic collapse...

  • Stay out of big cities
  • Be as self sufficient as possible (see my friend Tracy's site www.mannamakers.com)
  • Get out of debt

"Reedeeming the Time Because the Days are Evil..." Eph 5:16

This is such a powerful picture.

The entire Botkin family shared their family vision with us. All were well spoken, well educated, professional team members.

Although the family was dealing with sickness, and surely felt like staying in bed that day, they persevered! This dedication showed us the depth of their concern in getting out the message God had laid on their hearts.
So sweet

Emma Jane diligently "reads" the scriptures

Our family...in th front row!
At the first we sat here becasue this was the only place we could sit together - it was crowded! After a while, though, we really enjoyed being "right there". We could better appreciate the content.
