Last week...
A "mysterious" package arrived!
Addressed to "Beth Discher and Daughters"
What could it be?
A unique cookbook!
Who could have sent it?
The sender must know us really well...
"Cowboy Cookin'" is right up our alley!
Hey! Here's a recipe!
Who has supper tonight?
Grace does...
"Where on earth am I going to find a CAMEL?"
Peter to the rescue!
Any excuse to pull out that new 30-30"Saved...by Peter"
Thanks! NOW I have all the ingredients I need!
The next day...ANOTHER package arrived!
"To Beth Discher and Daughters"
Hmmm....what could it be this time?
ANOTHER unique cookbook!
Yeah...this sender knows us REALLY well!
So...who's up for dessert?
This recipe looks pretty good!
Oh! It's Elly May herself cookin' us up some good vittles!
Uh Oh! Here comes Jethro!
"Hey you big oaf! Who d'ya' think yer foolin' anyhow?
I'm a gonna larn ya' a lesson ya' won't soon be fergettin'"
"Uncle Jed! Elly done throwed me agin'..."

We think we have solved "The Case of the Congenial Cookbook Contributor"
Being the sleuths that we are, (trained by "Jack" himself) our deductive reasoning kicked in.
- Clue #1. The item was shipped, therefore it was probably not from someone local.
- Clue #2. The items were ordered specifically with us in mind. The "Contributor" must know us REALLY well to know we like cowboy stuff AND The Beverly Hillbillies (at least the kids do!)
- Clue #3. The Contributor must be a very unique person to have thought up such a scheme, SO we simply looked up the word "unique" in our handy dandy dictionary (NOT the 1828 dictionary mind you) and there we had our answer..."Elementary, my dear Watson!"
- The "Contributor must have been our dear...
Uncle Hans!!!
Who else would send such unique gifts? Uncle Hans defines unique.
Thank you, Uncle Hans! We love them!!! And we love YOU!!!!

Oh, my stars!! This is so funny! Yes, Uncle Hans knows y'all pretty well! Kitty said they tried to curl Markie's bangs like "Ellie May's" but they wouldn't hold the curl. It doesn't matter -- Markie did a great Ellie May impersonation anyway! Now, I just need to come over with my black iron frying pan and whop "Jethro" over the head!!
"Granny"
(Grandmother -- who can't even imagine whopping anyone over the head with that pan!)
BTW, I still can't post under my ID -- how did we do it, Sarah Beth?
What fun! The camel stew recipe was amazing. :)
We laughed, we cried, it was FUNNY!!
Love the pic of "unique". Ellie you sound like part of the family, ha ha.
Love ya'll critters out thar in the big city.
Hahaha! NOW I understand what the camel was for! :) Can you blame me for wondering though?
I think some nice fried flies and fish sauce would go great with your camel carcass stew. ;)
We laughed and laughed! :)
Thanks for the humorous post! :)
Love,
Mandy Sunshine
Oh my goodness! That was hilarious you Dischers!! Yes, leave it to Uncle Hansy to come up with those surprises :)
Markie was perfect as Ellie May! I loved the comments in hillbilly lingo! Very good indeed! Thanks for the good laugh to start my day ;)
Aunt Molly
That was so funny! I am grinning from ear to ear. Markie and Peter were great! Beautiful pic of Rosie by the way, thanks for a good laugh!
Well, doggie! What hospitality and fun. But its not over yet. Donna Douglas and Max Baer, Jr. have been replaced! See the new Elly May and Jethro on the cover of the recently released 5 DVD set of the Beverly Hillbillies at
www.seo-duit.com/5dvdset :)
THAT is hilarious! The younger version of Elly May just fits right in..but..."Jethro" looks a little camera shy. ha ha
Thanks for making our lives interesting, Hans!
Love,
Beth
Well, that was truly an enjoyable post...full of fun and pure silliness! Markie was a perfect "Ellie Mae" and Pete wa a pretty good Jethro...he just needed to make a goofier looking face! Thanks for the entertainment!
Love,
Aunt Katie
That was too funny! I am pretty sure that the Higginbothams have that cowboy cook book. I think it may have been the camel recipe that they read to us. :)
