Within the confines of this little cyber-world, you will encounter mind boggling facts (doubtful), side splitting humor (more doubtful), artifacts of great historical significance (we have a lot of old family photos to bore you with), and maybe you will even come across some genuine German/Canadian stuff

(Got your curiosity up, eh?!?)

Of the nine in this family, I am the Canadian. I am out numbered 9 to 1 by Americans. The odds are still in my favor. I am after all, "The Father." Join me on our wonderful journey.

The Coops Are Done!

Eddie and Peter were asked by a local Feed Store to consider building chicken coops. It's been a great experience and I think they turned out super! The model above was built from the Catawba Chicken Coop plans and was built completely by Pete.
  • It's a moveable pen and has a drop down ladder with access to the nesting area like the one below.
  • The ends come off for easy access to the eggs.
  • One side comes off for cleaning.
It's a neat design

This is the other coop they built. It is a stationary coop and I love it because it's "cute". It also has the drop down ladder for access to the nesting area.

It has a door below and 4 doors above for access to eggs and cleaning.

This is the string to pull in order to raise or lower the ladder. Purty neat huh?
Eddie and Peter also built a cute proto-type coop, which he gave to Jason for his chickens.

All the coops were made with lumber that they milled from cedars here on the property. They are also treated with Wood Renew product, which resists rot and weathering and makes the wood look great! Wood Renew is the business that my brother, Jason owns. He applies the product to wood decks, etc.

Loading the coop to be delivered to the store. It's already sold.

We are loving the way the Lord is giving us opportunities to diversify while at the same time allowing the family to work together.

Spring is here!!!

Yes, spring has come to the Ozarks. Another season has come, and all the wonders of that season with it.
The daffodils are popping up everywhere.
The nectarine trees are blooming
As well as the plums
Little chickies were hatched!
Little children love them :)
Little ragamuffin with her bed hair is thrilled ;)
Peepers! Hatched by a local farmer.
Pete built a lovely brooder
"See what I did??"
Time for spending lots of time outside!
Time for happy thoughts
Yes, time for lots of blossom pictures ;)
(I am missing our nice camera...haha)

Time for pretty, light outfits
Sweet friends-Rosie and Caroline
That's all for now.

"For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:" Heb 6:7

More visitors!

"Events" are usually rather spread out, but the past couple weeks, we have had many visitors!
After church last Sunday, we were pleased to have Matthew, Daniel and Mike Powers come for the afternoon.
Catching up with cousins :)
"Dan the Man" with his shades...
(You left them here, by the way...Don't expect to get them back) :p
Playing "War"
Watch out for that fist!
Itchy fingers
 Who won, Matt?
Sweet Mama made a delicious chicken pot pie for dinner
 The Frodges brought dessert..Yummy!
That evening, the boys played "Big Buck Hunter"
Personally, I do not see the attraction to "shooting" at deer on the screen, and hearing the corny jokes made every few minutes...But the boys seemed to love it ;)
Don't get a doe, Mike!
Mama's little man
Mama's little big-shot ;)
A totally un-related, but pleasant picture. See y'all later!

A visit from the Anderslands!

Recently, we had the opportunity to have the Andersland family over for dinner.
Emily looks happy ;)
Men of God, with the weight of the world on their shoulders...discussing the past, present and future.
Godly mothers, sharing wisdom and experience
No, not another good, old-fashioned picture war? :D
 Run, run, run!
Gotcha!
Sweet Megan

The Frodges joined us for dessert
Clay loves dessert
Hmmm...looks like a serious game going on here...
Not for these two!
Markie and Emily are truly two-of-a-kind.
What were they playing?
What else, but Mao? The game of...well, we can't say. ;)
