Within the confines of this little cyber-world, you will encounter mind boggling facts (doubtful), side splitting humor (more doubtful), artifacts of great historical significance (we have a lot of old family photos to bore you with), and maybe you will even come across some genuine German/Canadian stuff

(Got your curiosity up, eh?!?)

Of the nine in this family, I am the Canadian. I am out numbered 9 to 1 by Americans. The odds are still in my favor. I am after all, "The Father." Join me on our wonderful journey.

The Coops Are Done!

Eddie and Peter were asked by a local Feed Store to consider building chicken coops. It's been a great experience and I think they turned out super! The model above was built from the Catawba Chicken Coop plans and was built completely by Pete.
  • It's a moveable pen and has a drop down ladder with access to the nesting area like the one below.
  • The ends come off for easy access to the eggs.
  • One side comes off for cleaning.
It's a neat design

This is the other coop they built. It is a stationary coop and I love it because it's "cute". It also has the drop down ladder for access to the nesting area.

It has a door below and 4 doors above for access to eggs and cleaning.

This is the string to pull in order to raise or lower the ladder. Purty neat huh?
Eddie and Peter also built a cute proto-type coop, which he gave to Jason for his chickens.

All the coops were made with lumber that they milled from cedars here on the property. They are also treated with Wood Renew product, which resists rot and weathering and makes the wood look great! Wood Renew is the business that my brother, Jason owns. He applies the product to wood decks, etc.

Loading the coop to be delivered to the store. It's already sold.

We are loving the way the Lord is giving us opportunities to diversify while at the same time allowing the family to work together.

For the record - that's not a chicken coop. From the last picture it is clear to see that it is most definitely the Ozark version of a slide in camper with storage room below and sleeping quarters above. Wonder if these will sell? ;-)

Love it!! Love them ALL! They look great :)

You should have no problem selling them.

I am so proud of Pete for building that one by himself.

What a great use of the cedar, too!

Love you all!!!
