From the time you were little, you have been practical, quiet, resourceful, a lover of music, a lover of animals, a lover of beautiful things, a lover of the Word, and sensitive to the feelings of others. (You hated to leave Mama and Daddy "alone")

You are the one we count on to add so many beautiful extra touches when we have company. You are the one to pull the "Country Cousins" together during a performance and then go on to learn the recording equipment and design the CD cover. You are the one who envisions your little sisters in matching dresses and then sews them! You have learned so many skills through your determination. Time after time you have seen a need and tackled it.

An Infringement of liberty

We received an email today from the Campaign for Liberty. We were appalled at this infringement of rights! It amazed us that those enforcing the law, with all the power of the state and federal governments behind them do not even know the law which they are supposed to be enforcing!

Here is a brief summary of what happened, as well as a video from Fox News.

"Campaign for Liberty’s very own Steve Bierfeldt has become an unexpected Internet sensation -- and the latest target of over-reaching federal government agents.

You see, Steve was detained by Airport Police and TSA officials shortly after the Campaign for Liberty regional conference in St. Louis.

The officials rudely berated and harassed Steve for 30 minutes in a secluded room at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. Fortunately, Steve was able to record nearly all of the interrogation with his cell phone.

Steve’s alleged “crime”? Carrying $4,700 in checks and cash from Campaign for Liberty, along with various other materials from our conference.

The local and Federal agents harassed Steve. They were belligerent, cursing and using insulting language. They threatened to turn Steve over to the DEA and the FBI, all the while refusing to inform him of his legal rights or explain how cash and checks threatened airplane or airport security.

Throughout the interrogation, Steve remained polite but resolute and declined to answer the invasive questions without an adequate explanation from these federal and local agents as to why they needed to be answered. Without telling Steve what law he was accused of breaking, they continued their harassment."

As a very special part of Peter's present from his Uncle Chris and Aunt Molly, he was treated to a trip to Bass Pro Shops - with spending money! What more could a 16 year old young man ask for?

Granddaddy takes each of his grandsons on a canoe trip for their 16th birthday. It is a very special time. He stops to have devotions along the way. It's a manly way to celebrate!

Since Peter and his cousin Matthew turned 16 within 5 months of each other, they had a shared canoe trip.

Granddaddy flew Matthew and Daniel down from Arkansas - seeing them was the best part of the whole thing! Here they are with CJ.
