Last week our family attended the "Christians at the Crossroads" conference in Georgia, which brought us just an hour or so away from my precious Aunt and Uncle.
The Lord used Uncle Biff and Aunt Jeanne to bring Eddie and me together. I guess we sure owe them a lot :)
They hosted us ALL for supper the night before the conference!
The food was delicious.
The fellowship was perfect.
CHRISTIANS... AT THE CROSSROADS
A conference which enlightened our family and refocused our vision.
We in America are truly at a crossroads. We are all aware that this out of control spending of fiat currency cannot last forever. We are financially and morally bankrupt and under God's judgement, yet as Christians, what is the "next step"?
At this inspiring convention, we were very much encouraged in this area.
A few things we brought away from this conference were to...
- Plan as a family for the future - both physically and spiritually. Have goals as a family in order to be proactive in confronting our culture for Christ
- Train our children (and ourselves!) to think beyond an entertainment based lifestyle - encourage a productive lifestyle instead
- Even and especially in the face of disaster, we have opportunities to impact our society for the kingdom of God
- Children are a blessing from the Lord and the arrows that we send into the future for His kingdom
- Encourage our daughters, to give her heart, her time, and her talents to her father and his vision, and she will be ready to do the same for her dear husband
- Encourage our sons to be ready for marraige with a 200 year plan for his own progeny
- Ensure that all entertainment is compatable with the vision God has given our family and not detracting from it
- Encourage siblings to work together in harmony
"Where there is no vision, the people perish..." Prov. 29:18
In the event of an economic collapse...
- Stay out of big cities
- Get out of debt
"Reedeeming the Time Because the Days are Evil..." Eph 5:16
This is such a powerful picture.
The entire Botkin family shared their family vision with us. All were well spoken, well educated, professional team members.
Although the family was dealing with sickness, and surely felt like staying in bed that day, they persevered! This dedication showed us the depth of their concern in getting out the message God had laid on their hearts.
(for the ever-present camera)
"No more escalators!"
Good fellowship over good food!
We met many new friends and met up with many we already knew
They're growing up!

Looks like you guys had a fantastic time! We are going to the Christian Heritage Homeschool Conference in April. I'm very excited about it! Voddie Baucham is the key-note speaker this year.
Blessings -
Camille
PS - How did you make the header at the top of the page? That is fantastic!!!
Beth, what a good summary of a wonderful experience! I think my granny-heart was as encouraged to see the grandchildren building relationships with other likeminded young people as I was by the Botkins' faithful presentation. The future is in God's hands, and His faithful remnant will prevail!
As usual, the pictures tell a wonderful story!
Love,
Mother
You summed it up beautifully. Our famiy appreciated the Conference so much as well. All the pictures were great!
Love you all,
Molly
Camille,
Yes, we did have a fantastic time! I'm sure you will also in April, as it seems that's the natural result when a bunch of like minded families get together ;)
Thanks for the compliment on the header. I made the banner in a program called "poster". Any program where you can combine graphics and photos (probably many scrapbooking programs) would work. You just have to be able to save the new "picture" in a jpg format or another format compatable with blogger.
Mama and Molly,
I'm glad you enjoyed the post. Loved being there with you!
Beth
The conference looked like it was truly worthwhile, and the converstations that stemmed from the conference when Mama and Daddy were here affirmed that!
So glad so many of our family were able to attend.
Love,
Katie
