A difficult question, but one well worth thinking about!
Our country is definitely going "down hill". Moral values mean nothing. God doesn't mean anything. Whatever we want and whatever we think is good and right for us. Wrong and right are reversed.
This is definitely sin and sin will be punished. God is currently judging us and will continue to judge us sinners.
Our nation is sinful -and worse, is unrepentant- and God is not going to "sit still" for long. If we are not currently under a national judgement, we are certainly in for one.
The US, though founded on Christianity, is no longer a Christian nation.

Hey, my name is Hunter Kendall. I am commenting to answer the question.
Yes I surely do think America is in judgement.
We have had a very sound and Christian Heritage, but we are losing it fast. God is trying to wake us up. Just look at recent history. September 11th. 2001, (the terrorist attack). And many Hurricanes destroying homes, land, and lives. There are many others, but for one last one, He has allowed an Islamic believer as our country's civil magistrate, to hasten his coming.

"Do you believe our nation is currently under judgment or could soon be facing judgment? If so, why?"
Because if God does not judge us soon, he will owe Sodom and Gomorrah an apology. Our culture worships at the feet of money, entertainment, pride and greed while the blood of our murdered children flows. We set aside family, morality, and righteousness to pursue pleasure and self indulgence. We, including many christians, are full of pride - in ourselves, our things, even our country, instead of humble before an almighty God. We pledge allegiance to a flag, and the country for which it stands - when it is NOT a nation under God. It stands for corruption, abortion, war, and lifestyles that God calls an abomination. Too many of our churches worship their money and their buildings rather than Jesus Christ. Too many of our families are sacrificed on the alter of convenience, pleasure, and self absorption. God is clear, he will judge... we cannot continue in corruption and expect him to be indulgent, he is a just and holy God.

Yes I believe we are under God's judgment, but I believe it will be much more severe in the future. Why? Because we have forsaken Him and His Word. Americans don't live by moral absolutes any more, only moral relativism. This didn't happen overnight but began more than 100 years ago. It was a good question and one I believe many people are contemplating these days.

"Do you believe our nation is currently under judgment or could soon be facing judgment? If so, why?" yes and yes. Under judgement but hold on to your hats there's more to come. We live in Babylon, don't you think? Yet we're called to live holy lives and be a light in a dark place. There is always a remnent, and a promise of restoration.
Hope you draw my name for the Faith & Freedom album!

For sure it could, for sure it could. Scripture says that where there is no vision the people perish, and I think you will agree that average Americans, Christian or non, are among the stupidest, most purpose-deprived people ever to walk the face of the earth. We are a people that brags of being intellegent and educated, because of all the technology that has been invented by the few brilliant people still left, but if the average American had to make even the most basic of inventions, like a simple wool cloak made from scratch, he would fail miserably at that, let alone making computers, because of a lack of foresight and reason. Also, based upon what the Bible says about judgment, we may be being judged already: "And just as they did not see fit to aknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper." That sounds a lot like what has happened to our nation over the past fifty years.

Hiya!
You know, I have been battling with this question for a while. Do I think we are under judgement? I really do not know. I do believe our society/culture lives in mockery to the Word of God. If we are under judgement, I can certainly understand it. But then I think about 'there is nothing new under the sun' and can see from different times in History that we are just in a recurring cycle - much as the cycle during the time of the judges.
Does that qualify me??

Yes, I believe that America is currently under God's judgment. The sin that is so prevalent in our nation today is not only the cause of the judgment, it IS part of the judgment. In Romans 2:22-24 it says, "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:"

Hello Dischers!
I'd say that America is under judgment. In ancient Israel, wicked and godless leaders were a sure sign that they were under judgment.
And I look at America. We have wicked and godless rulers leading our country in the wrong direction! We have no one to blame but ourselves. We have forgotten the One to whom we owe life itself...
As a side note, electing a guy who is better than Obama is not going to change the US. Not even Ron Paul can "fix" the US. The "fixing" has to begin in our own hearts, then grow to our families, our churches, our communities, and then lastly, our nation.
"Do you believe our nation is currently under judgment or could soon be facing judgment? If so, why?"
Definitely! And we deserve it as we, as a nation, have turned to other gods just like the israelites did in the OT. (we are reading kings right now!) thankfully, there is always a remnant. God does not need a large army, just a faithful one to accomplish HIS ultimate purposes. We are not afraid. We have faith! But your post about the conference in Georgia was helpful! Thanks for posting and the pics! We just moved FROM georgia to denver and were sad to miss such a conference! we had asked the botkins at the history of the world conference several summers ago to PLEASE do a conference in Georgia! It seemed wonderful! We were delighted to see our friends the Mortons and the Stones in some of your pictures. We used to live in Orlando before we moved to Georgia! Smile.
Anyway......God bless your family on the path.

A very sobering topic and one that we should all consider---not only as we endeavor to be good citizens of our country, upholding the truth AND the Constitution, but also as we daily live our lives, knowing that we are ultimately citizens of another world.
I think that the US has been under God's judgment (in one form or another) since prayer was removed from schools. Things have gone very downhill morally, in many ways in our country since that time.
May God enable us, through His Spirit, to walk in holiness and according to His Word, even as the world around us decays spiritually and morally. And may He have mercy on the souls around us who need Him as Savior--may He use us to draw them to Himself!

I believe America is under judgment, without a doubt. And by the way things are looking, it is going to get much, much worse. Americans have forsaken God and despised their heritage, they view evil as good and good as evil. So far from humbling ourselves and turning from our wicked ways, the people of the US seem to be galloping headlong to their destruction.
It is a good question, and I am glad that so many are pondering on this very important issue.
Blessings,

I would say that we are under judgment because of the enormous econmic collapse. Our country as a whole has stopped acknowledging God in many ways so we have been asking for this for a long time.
Joshua Higginbotham
How can our nation expect not to be under God’s judgment? We asked God for His blessings and offered our devotion in all of our founding documents and in every state’s constitution. We proclaim that we are reliant on our Creator’s blessings and then we have ignored Him! We have shunned His decrees and as a nation have eschewed His very name. Of course, we are under judgment.
However, He doesn’t have to send plagues, natural disasters or economic hardships for us to feel His judgment. All He has to do is withhold His blessings and/or protection in order for us to feel it. His wrath is yet to come! I believe that we are now facing the beginning of Sorrows referred to by our Lord and Savior in Matthew 24:8. But keep in mind that just two verses prior He tells us to let our hearts not be troubled, that these things must come to pass.
As Christians we should feel a renewed sense of duty knowing that we are entering the time of “thlipsis” that John spoke about in the opening of the fifth seal (Rev. 6). This time of affliction or tribulation, if you will, brings with it a great awakening. Let us all resolve to stand firm and eagerly anticipate fulfilling our purpose for our Lord and Savior.
Ed (The Father), I pray the Lord’s blessings upon your marriage, your children (including Little Patrick, yet to come ; ) and all your endeavors. I miss spending time with my brother and friend.

The judges of our land are corrupted. The highest courts have said that we no longer trust in God. We can no longer trust in God in our school systems. Our leaders steadfastly uphold the killing of the unborn, the future of our nation. Again, we are sending our rescores to kill children throughout the world. We have become a heathen nation. No longer are the principals that our founding fathers believed in, fought for, and died for, upheld, those that built this country. These are but a few things. Prophetically, the revival fires have gone dim, and we see Israel stirring. Yes, we under judgment, but, God has always taken care of His people. We watch for His coming.

Thank you all for participating. We are awed by the insightful comments that were posted - awed and encouraged at the same time.
It is so evident that God is working among His people, giving them an understanding of the times. May we all be faithful to the vision He has laid upon our hearts.
We are roofing our house today and will do the drawing tonight! Look for the winner tomorrow afternoon!!!
See you then!
