Well, these past few days have been busy! Of course I love being busy so.... I am happy. ;)
Monday, Kitty, Gracie, Peter and I went to Grandmama's for "Monday Classes." Every Monday, the older cousins all go to Grandmama's house to learn Spanish, Latin, Florida History, Art and Music. During the summer, we have been focusing on music. This week we got a lot of practice in, and went home early at 11:30.
We had volunteered to bring two homeschooling families meals that afternoon (One has just had a baby, and the other, the mother is struggling to recover from cancer). So when we got home on Monday, we rushed around and prepared their meals, and our meal combined. Menu: Scalloped Potatoes, Meatloaf, Steamed Carrots, Whole Wheat Rolls, Salad, and Homemade Brownies.
When all was finished, we piled it in the car, and went on the delivery trip - all of us except for Kitty and Markie. We had a wonderful time visiting, and meeting the new baby!
When we got home, we grabbed a quick dinner, changed clothes, and left for a friend's birthday party. It was a lot of fun! We played a fun little game where each team gets a bag of marshmallows, a bag of candy fruit slices, and a box of toothpicks. Each team is given about 15 minutes to construct anything they can. At the end, there are 2 prizes given out. One for the most creative, and one for the tallest.
One team made a Noah's ark! It looked really neat. They, of course. got the most creative prize. ;) Kitty's team won the tallest award. Theirs actually looked like the squashed Eiffel Tower. It fell over right after it was measured. It was very funny when they won!!! It didn't look like it could win anything!!! The same thing happened to my team's. It was taller than theirs, but it did not even last long enough to be measured! :( But, we all had a lot of fun building them, winning or not.
Tuesday, bright and early, everyone except Kitty and Emma met up with our friends the Franklins, and we all went blueberry picking down the road! The Stricklens also joined us for a little while. Despite the heat and late season, we got a good amount. We had picked and frozen a bunch right before we went to Jamestown, and so were thrilled to be able to get a few fresh berries!! The Franklins stayed for lunch, and we had a wonderful time visiting with them most of the afternoon.
Well, I guess I have accurately recounted the past few days. Sorry I am not a more creative writer. ;) I give facts and use the "Tell" method rather than tell a story using the "Show" method. But... that's me.
Until next time,
Sarah

Well, I'm impressed.
I don't know how you guys find the time, as you certainly seem very busy.
Keep it up, as this makes Florida seem a little closer.
I'll keep checking in.
Congratulations on the 20 years. Time sure flies by quickly.
What a fun day! And that new baby friend is sweet as can be! It always blesses my heart to see how you faithful Dischers love to help and bless your friends and family! I know, I have been the recipient of your blessing many times.
Happy 20th, Beth and Eddie. It brings tears to my eyes remembering that day -- and it seems a lifetime ago! Where do the years go?! Sunrise, Sunset ...
