The Sunny South, Eh?: On to Alabama and Georgia!

Within the confines of this little cyber-world, you will encounter mind boggling facts (doubtful), side splitting humor (more doubtful), artifacts of great historical significance (we have a lot of old family photos to bore you with), and maybe you will even come across some genuine German/Canadian stuff

Of the nine in this family, I am the Canadian. I am out numbered 9 to 1 by Americans. The odds are still in my favor. I am after all, "The Father." Join me on our wonderful journey.

On to Alabama and Georgia!

Next stop, Alabama

After we left the Miller's, we headed to Alabama to visit our Great, Great Aunt Joyce and her family.

Melanie is Grandmama's cousin (Aunt Joyce's daughter). We were able to stop by their house for a couple of hours in Huntsville. They and their twin daughters Katie and Beth had just returned from a mission trip in Africa days before. We enjoyed a slideshow of Beth's excellent photography in Africa.

The next afternoon we joined Aunt Joyce at her favorite cafe. Mmm! Good Southern food.

We were able to record many more memories in the short time we were able to stay.

On to Georgia

We were finally able to visit our good friends the Whiddons!! We girls had met them at the Uniting Church and Home conference in 2006. Then the rest of the family was able to meet them at Jamestown last year. They are a sweet, very hospitable family as they hosted us for the night. We felt like we were at a bed and breakfast.

Nathan and I had been having a "picture war" all morning.

Finally, after running around the house trying to snap one of him, Brooke and Mallory caught him.

We were treated to some lovely music by the Whiddon girls.
