Within the confines of this little cyber-world, you will encounter mind boggling facts (doubtful), side splitting humor (more doubtful), artifacts of great historical significance (we have a lot of old family photos to bore you with), and maybe you will even come across some genuine German/Canadian stuff

(Got your curiosity up, eh?!?)

Of the nine in this family, I am the Canadian. I am out numbered 9 to 1 by Americans. The odds are still in my favor. I am after all, "The Father." Join me on our wonderful journey.

Whee! On to Greensboree

Well, we left Charlotte and headed on up to Greensboro so the kids could perform their "act"

We got there on Saturday night and rested.
Sunday morning we were blessed to be able to attend Hope Baptist Church, where Mr. Scott Brown is pastor. There we heard a very relevant message - one the Lord knew we needed to hear ;) and met some very sweet families who have the same vision - always encouraging! Unfortunately we have no pictures, as we had to RUSH off after the service to get back to "Rehearsal"
Here they are "rehearsing" with the other participants.
The plan as we knew it was for each 5 minute act to get up and perform. Well, much to the dismay of most of the participants, a diabolical plot was at work...
"The Song"...
Being a 4-H event, someone thought up the idea of having ALL the participants join together in an "inspirational" 4-H song, which they would sing together as a grand finale. There was nothing wrong with the song, except as Peter put it, "This isn't what I signed up for!"
The other problem was that in order to learn, "The Song", they had to sing it like 50 times. Think "It's a Small World" to relate.
I must say, it was kind of funny seeing them up there forced to sing the little song! I was proud that they were cooperative. "The Song" actually turned out very nice and we were thankful to 4-H for this opportunity.

" I don't need any more hugs!"
"Please...don't sing that song!"

They survived

Doing their "act"

"That's not all, folks!"

More to come..."the marathon"...Branson...the Millers...tubing...Aunt Joyce...the Whiddons

I loved the "Discher Hillbillies" song -- that was hilarious!! Corny - yes, but hilarious! Looks like you all had such a nice time with the Charlotte relatives. So glad you did that. I need to get copies of all those old pictures from you! They were great :)
I liked the idea about incentives for winning the Math games, etc. by getting to spend their prize miney at the next rest stop -- that's a good one!
Looking forward to reading about the rest of your trip (I know we really have heard about it from your own mouths, but we haven't "experienced" your trip until it has been BLOGGED don't you know!!)
Love,
Molly
