Within the confines of this little cyber-world, you will encounter mind boggling facts (doubtful), side splitting humor (more doubtful), artifacts of great historical significance (we have a lot of old family photos to bore you with), and maybe you will even come across some genuine German/Canadian stuff

(Got your curiosity up, eh?!?)

Of the nine in this family, I am the Canadian. I am out numbered 9 to 1 by Americans. The odds are still in my favor. I am after all, "The Father." Join me on our wonderful journey.

Our Lawn Party

Welcome to our Lawn Party! (Do we look "Lawn Partyish" enough ?)

Your guests await, Mademoiselle
As do yours, my dear!

"It's finally time for the Lawn Party!!! Yipee!!! I'm sooo excited!

We girls get to dress up! (We all know that's the real purpose of these events anyway!)

The guests arrive! Here Markie is with Sweet Anne and one of those healthy twins :)
We so enjoyed meeting new friends and making acquaintances friends!
Rosie Posie with Caroline and Emily
Matching Mama and Daughter dresses. How long did that take ya, Rachel? 20 minutes? ha ha

"It's a grand time, it is!"
You would love to be a fly on the...in the air here! (And believe me there were plenty :/)
Sweet Little Miss Blue Eyes
We eventually got smart and moved those benches to the shade!
Ah! This is the life! (until the ticks find my new spot) Hey! Wait a minute...this is an idyllic event. Who's bringing up the T word?
"I know something you don't know! Ya know those "chicken salad" sandwiches? They weren't "chicken"!
"Hey! MOM!!! Can I have another glass of punch?!?!" ha ha (I have no idea what he was saying - just sounded good. He's so expressive don't you think?)
Lots and Lotsa Punch makes for Happy Kiddos!
Big Kids like their punch too
Nice of the these guys to stop by for a little while. Hey! Y'all didn't wear those get ups to the "Rodeo" did ya?
This looks like a pleasant group of boys doesn't it? This was before Musical Chairs...

Aww...sweet

Even the moms got into the spirit! Pretty in pink, Deb!

Our elegant Diva :) Looks like you should be singing some opera for us here!

Really good discussions here! I think the world has been properly analyzed!

Seriously, these men really are movers and shakers in the Kingdom of God - doing it His way by starting with their families first!
What's wrong? "Nothin' to do"

"Oh! Come on! How 'bout some horseshoes?
I hear Joel throws a mean horseshoe

Looks like Matt's got some great follow through

But Uncle Jay was HORSESHOE KING!!!

The girls played a pretty competitive game of Musical Chairs!

With Kitty and Leah vying for top spot! (I think Leah won!)

But that was NOTHING compared to this game! Our camera was missing for a while and we didn't get pictures. Sooo wish we had!
The little girls started out with high hopes, but soon it became "A Man's Game!" Stuart, Matthew and Daniel battled it out...literally! It was the most competitive game of musical chairs I had ever seen! So...who won you ask?

"Well....I don't like to brag, but let's just say it takes a lot to beat me at my game"

Lovely Ladies...

Oh! And one famous gentleman. A "public figure" in fact ;)

Most of the girls

SCAVENGER HUNT TIME!
In order to select teams for the hunt, we played a little game! (You can see the enthusiasm on everyone's faces - especially my husband's) Team members found each other by the animal sound he was making :) Yea...It was interesting. They all managed to find each other in the "Barnyard". Being the evil hostess that I am, I was loving it!
"For the record...I'm with Daddy on this one"

Rebecca's armed for the hunt!
Our riddles do not rival the epic "Hunt" but they made for a good 10 minute diversion!

"I coolly lie in my 4-poster bed. Try the raised beds!"
"Hey Diddle Diddle. The Cat and The Fiddle. The Cow jumped over the Moon. The Little Dog laughed because he knew why the fork couldn't run away with the spoon." " HUH?"

Looking for a yellow rind? Or perhaps a "Clemson Spineless"!

I fear Sarah is laughing at their puzzlement!

We all know this simple fact...
Every event where girls take the trouble to look lovely must needs include some bit of...

DANCING!!!
Who needs shoes for twirling?
Well...they do keep those tights from tearing ;)

These girls were pretty patient :)

Everyone seems to be "getting it"!

Whee! Big girls can twirl too! (And they'd probably all rather be barefoot)

Whether they got all the steps or not, they figured out how to have fun!

"Anne" with an E - with Sarah B
So sweet to watch them enjoying simple pleasures!

Rebecca did such a great job making that dress!

"OK - Did you get that?"

"I think we're coming up with a totally new dance" LOVE that face. Leah!

The beautiful Lipsy gals!

"OK...now...Clap!"

Ready or not here we go!

"Oh! Well! Let's just keep moving!"

They included us. We tried hard - really! (And they did!)
The patient dance caller!" Let's try that one again, ladies" ha ha!

"Uh...run that one by me again!"

"We got it! You just spin around and twirl! Works for us!"
Moms enjoying the show (Love your hat, Mary! Very Dapper!)

"Anyone care for a bobbed apple?"

"Hey! It's harder than it looks"

Apple Bobbers Unite!
"Hey! Can you guys pose for a picture? Look Natural"

More good discussion follows into the evening

The event draws to a close. Gotta grab a few more pics!

Thanks, everyone, for coming! It was a beautiful day!

"Whew! I'm partied out!"

It seems funny after all this time, but there is still only one "Hunt".

Looks like another FUN lawn party with the all too familiar and dangerous Musical Chairs. You would think that would be a calm game, but noooo!! We've seen a few chairs fly and a few people, too, during some of our "not so calm" musical chair games. Getting rammed across the room is always fun?!?!

You have the perfect place for a lawn party. I love the view. Looks like a wonderful day was had by all.

I love the last pic of Sarah. It was a full day, wasn't it, Sarah?

Enjoy your beautiful fall colors for us.

Love to all,
Mrs.P

Ah...Justin, isn't that just so true!

Thanks, Abby and Mary! The party wasn't complete without your cheerful faces! Yeah, that picture was a perfect "Benny" picture wasn't it?

Mama, Thanks so much. The setting is just perfect!

Thanks, Laney. We surely hope to see you soon too! Tell your mom and dad that those roads run West of you as well as South of you;) ha ha

Hi, there, "Toasty"! (Hey! Who's playing that one when you come up?) So glad you enjoyed yourself. You mean a LOT to us too!!! We love you so much. Yea, our visit with you, it was reeeel good. Couldn't ask for a better visit. It was just swell. (We do that all the time still.) Pretty sad.

Katie - your boys put a whole new look on that game! They had a good time!

Tina - Sooo your family has had some of "those kind" of musical chairs? What?!? I can't believe it! ha ha Hope you will get to enjoy some Fall colors yourself! When are you coming?

Love,
Beth/Aunt Beth/Mrs. Discher
