We have been so abundantly blessed in our garden!
Every other day we bring in a couple baskets of produce!
Peppers...
Tomatoes...
..Squash and zucchini...
(We have them, and cucumbers growing out of our ears!)

Watermelons...
Cantaloupes...
Cucumbers....
Okra...
And onions-Though I can not seem to find the picture I took of our onion harvest, we've been very pleased with them. That's pretty much all Mama has been using for cooking for a month or so.

Then he stands and takes his ease,
Stamps his foot and claps his hands
And turns him round to view the land.- 15th Century Song

Praise God from whom ALL blessing flow!!
The neat thing about this garden is that it is almost entirely heirloom. Many plants have grown from seeds we saved from last years' garden.
As I've been saving seeds from each variety, it just amazes me how you can get SO much from one tiny seed!
From one squash seed, you harvest an abundance of fruit, plus, when you allow the fruit to mature and save the seeds, you have the possibility for 50 times the squash plants! All from one seed. What a miracle!

What a wonderful post! Granddaddy and I are just smiling with pleasure at the bounty the Lord has given and at your father's obvious joy at his family being able to do what he has always envisioned!
Blessings on you, Discher farmers!
Love,
Grandmother, who hopes
to sample a little of that
bounty in a few weeks!
What a great looking garden..and your little girl farmers are just too cute!
I ate some of the "Discher Garden" squash at your grandparents house...yum!
What a beautiful harvest! Great pictures, everyone looks so happy!
Glad to see your Daddy's dreams coming true :)
Praise the Lord!
Love you all!
Aunt Molly
I loved the post!! What a blessing your plentiful harvest is and all from heirloom. Wow
It looks like the Lord had blessed your land before you even arrived with all of the wild fruit that you have on it. God is so good!!
Happy Farming,
Tina
P.S. I like Romeo. He looks a little camera shy :)
@ Mama - we hope to serve up some "bounty" to you as well!
@ Kelly - Thanks so much! Gardening with cuties is always so much fun! They are so excited about the small things :)
@ Molly - Yes, it is so wonderful to be able to finally really produce some of our own food. I know you have done it for years and we surely enjoyed gleaning from that! It was always so wonderful to bring home a bunch of "Stricklen produce." Growing our own has been so rewarding!
@ Tina - Thank you! Nothing compared to the market garden you all manage to produce on a regular basis, but it's God's blessing all the same. Just the bounty that we have harvested from such a small area makes me wonder what in the world you do with all your harvest! Yikes! Sometimes I cringe when they bring in another basketful because it means more processing :) It has been nice to give a lot away too though. I know you all love to bless others with your produce.
Wonderful looking garden, Dischers!
I love the Emma quotes. Too cute~
Looking forward to a Garden Party post!
Blessings,
~Mallory~
