Within the confines of this little cyber-world, you will encounter mind boggling facts (doubtful), side splitting humor (more doubtful), artifacts of great historical significance (we have a lot of old family photos to bore you with), and maybe you will even come across some genuine German/Canadian stuff

(Got your curiosity up, eh?!?)

Of the nine in this family, I am the Canadian. I am out numbered 9 to 1 by Americans. The odds are still in my favor. I am after all, "The Father." Join me on our wonderful journey.

Happy Birthday Emma Janie!

4 YEARS AGO TODAY...
The Lord blessed us abundantly with a little jewel!
Today Emma Jane turned 4 years old. She is a such delight to her family and is learning to walk in the ways of the Lord!

With her special teddy bear pancake!

Below are a few "Emmaisms" from the past year that I found on my computer journal.
She keeps us entertained for sure.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  •  Emma: (Obviously from Florida) “Mama, I can’t find any sand. It’s all covered up with grass”

  • Kitty walked into Emma’s room and Emma says, “I’m getting dressed!” Then she walks in front of the mirror, puts her hands on her hips, and says, “I am SO little!”

  • Emma was eating a large piece of chicken when Grace came up to her and said, “That’s a little piece of chicken for such a little girl!” Later Emma came up to Pete, who was eating some chicken as well, and said to him, “That’s a little piece of chicken for such a big boy!

  • She was singing (to the tune of Oh! Christmas Tree) “OH! Christmas tree, my Maryland, Oh! You are my salty dog!” (WHAT?!?)
  • She was quietly playing on the floor for the longest time. I looked down to see what was occupying her. There in front of her were her 2 little white sandals with a pink sock in each one. I heard this little voice, “ Mama!” (in a baby voice) “Oh! Baby!” cries Emma, as she ever so carefully pulls the sock “baby” out of the sandal “cradle”, gently rocks it and sings to it, returning it carefully to its “cradle”. She repeats this scenario with “sock baby” #2 and then, the situation becomes a little stressful when both “babies” began to cry!
  • She was naming off her horses for me. She named off about 12 of them, calling out common “horse names”…”This is Star…Jumper…Trigger… Snow… Tiny (of course – there were actually 2 “Tinies”)… Black Beauty… October… 1519…(HUH?!?)
  • Emma – (Dreamily) “I love mushroom days! That’s when mushrooms drop from the sky – Actually! That’s when God makes eggs drop from the sky and they turn into mushrooms!” (Walking away serenely) “I love mushroom days. I really love mushroom days.”Then she informed Kitty that mushroom days are July 13th
  • A couple of days later, she had just put her “bee dress” on and began to tell me about “Bee Day” which is, (long thoughtful pause) July 15th – coincidentally 2 days after “Mushroom Day”.
  • Emma saw a picture of Winston Churchill and wondered if he was a cucumber because of “He just has hair with spines like cucumbers have.”
  • When we were watching “Pride and Prejudice” she was asking if that man was “Mr. Collards?” and if Mr. Darcy was “Mr. Handsome?”

Ooohh, I love Emma Jane and I miss her sooo much! There is nothing to compare with Emmaisms. Has she heard any "coyotios" lately??

And please tell me if she smells any tea tree oil anytime soon -- I need to know when I will be visiting!

Happy Birthday, precious granddaughter!

Love, Grandmama and Granddaddy

Meant to ask: Is that a little wisp of hair, or is there actually a bruise under her left eye? (left for her)

Emma said thank you to everybody.

I forgot about the "tea tree oil" Emmaism! I have to write that one down :)

It is a wisp of hair.

Love,
Beth
