As mentioned in the last post, the day before we left for Missouri we were called upon to defend our state and country, drive the invading Yankees from our lands, defend our honor and liberty, cheer on the gallant efforts of our wounded and weary boys in grey... Well, that's the sentimental way of saying it. In essence, our devotion to Re-enactments of the War of Northern Aggression* was tried, and was not found wanting. So... off we went to Homeland Heritage Park: the Skirmish of Bow-legs Creek.
*That ought to satisfy even the purest Purists...

Lovely Stricklen girls, a distinguished-looking miniature Colonel, and a little boy who looks very fierce holding his "dunn." Or part of his "dunn." We'll try not to mention that most of the weight is being supported by his sisters, as he is mercifully unaware, and he might get dangerous were the slanderous fact widely known...
