Within the confines of this little cyber-world, you will encounter mind boggling facts (doubtful), side splitting humor (more doubtful), artifacts of great historical significance (we have a lot of old family photos to bore you with), and maybe you will even come across some genuine German/Canadian stuff

(Got your curiosity up, eh?!?)

Of the nine in this family, I am the Canadian. I am out numbered 9 to 1 by Americans. The odds are still in my favor. I am after all, "The Father." Join me on our wonderful journey.

Thanksgiving Day

The Lord blessed us with a wonderful Thanksgiving! Grandmama and Granddaddy came up a couple days beforehand to help prepare and celebrate the wonderful day! We had such a pleasant time! Here are some pictures for those of y'all who don't believe me;)
                     The BIG Day!

Grandmama

and her co-workers make noodles!:)
Sarah cuts our homegrown  Turnip and Collard greens! A must for every Southern Thanksgiving!:) (Thank you Peter for voluntarily doing the dreaded chore of washing them!!!<3 )

While Kitty prepares the mashed potatoes.

The lesser of the two turkeys. ;)
He was there for decoration mainly. The Waldman boys did a great job of raising the other one big enough to feed the whole family!:)

The finished product of greens. Isn't it funny how two laundry baskets full of fresh greens will shrink into two bowl fulls??

Grace's absolutely heavenly rolls!
(PS. That's homemade butter in the background as well;) )

Mama's Sweet Potato Casserole made with our sweet potatoes that we grew!

I got the pleasant job of making place cards!!:):):):)

 A few samples.

The table before destruction.;)

I sat with the little ones this year.
Here is our table.

Granddaddy prepared one of the most important things of all. A message to share at the dinner table<3

 Let the feasting begin!

“Some hae meat and canna eat,
And some wad eat that want it,
But we hae meat and we can eat,
And sae the Lord be thankit.”
 Robert Burns
Here is the list of our "meat" that day.

Turkey
Collard greens
Turnip greens
Green Beans
Green Bean Casserole
Stuffing
Gravy
Noodles
Mashed Potatoes
Sweet Potato Casserole
Cranberry Sauce
Rolls
Pecan Pie
Cranberry/Apple Pie
Pecan Chocolate Chip Pie
Wild Plum/Apple Pie
Pumpkin Pie
 Chocolate Fudge Pie
Lemon Cheesecake

Uncle Jay and Aunt Ashley brought the stuffing, Green Beans, and 2 of the pies

 Yes folks! We LOVE pies!!:)

Daniel and Rg joined us for Thanksgiving!<3

Alright, here are some pictures of the feast.

Carving the turkey.

The long, slender table........

The girls played "Come Ye Thankful People Come."<3

 Faithful Lovers after 46 years.<3

 Mother and Daughter.<3

Oh.. And Happy Birthday Mama!!!!!!<3<3
Mama's birthday was the 22nd of November.

The short, plump table.

Emmy Janey!

Odd angle, I know.:)
But at least it shows Grace's beautiful table decoration!:)

Vannah Banana!

Dessert anyone?

:):):):):)

<3<3<3<3

Do you see my Indian Pumpkin Friend (I grew him!)?? He's guarding the pies, and his name is Squanto. He'll be on that table as a pie for Christmas, poor thing:( ;) :)

After dinner fellowship!<3

 Tangerines!!!!!

Everyone watched family movies later  on.:)<3

My big brother was soo cute!!!!!!:)<3

Grandmama, I miss you!!<3

Grace, listening to conversation.

And more games!! Our family likes games. Can you tell???

Peter, I  miss you!!!<3

Supper time!

The Boys.

Mama and her little man.

Aunt Ashley and Kit.

Paul being normal. Yes, I said normal..:)

Me being normal as well.
This one was actually posed!;) <3

Coffee! Actually, this cup was hot tea. I know, because I thought it was coffee at one point too. So, I poured the remainder of the coffee in so I could make some more. Granddaddy later informed me it was his hot tea. " It tastes quite interesting!" He told me:)

ME

Oh yeah... More games.:)

The boys again..:)

Applesauce apples!

This picture reminds me of how we, as Christians, are to be a light in this world of darkness.

Paul.<3

Cousins

Hugging each other.

                       Not Thanksgiving, but nice anyways!
For those of you who wish to know what they are doing, not   many I'm sure, they are making cootie catchers.

Psalm 100

Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

I sincerely hope all of y'all had a beautiful, blessed Thanksgiving! We certainly did!

In Christ,
 Markie

Wonderful post, Markie! It so nicely represents a wonderful day -- and visit! It was so funny making a cootie catcher for Paul -- he had the whole deal down, except that he couldn't make it work back and forth! But he loved using it for a puppet, biting people! Thank you, Markie. That was a fun post.

Love,
Grandmother

Sweet family! Is that a saying by Robert Burns? I wonder because our Scottish Dance teacher said it the other day when we had them over an it is an old Scottish saying that she grew up with ! LOL! I just printed it off the other day!
Looks like you all had a lovely time! Blessings, Mrs. A

Looks great! We had collard greens for Thanksgiving dinner as well. Turns out that the Brabos (whom we had Thanksgiving with) had a native Floridian working with them on the farm this year. He brought the greens for the dinner.

p.s. I thought I'd mention that when I try to see "The Promised Land, Eh?" it brings up a page saying, "The website you were trying to reach is temporarily unavailable. Please check back soon. If you are this website, please log in for additional information or contact us as soon as possible."
