Markie wrote this summary about her grandparents' visit
We had the pleasure of having our Grandparents up here for the past 2 weeks. They wanted to visit and Grandmama wanted to see the lovely Spring beauties of Missouri. They arrived here on the 28th of April (Rose’s birthday) and remained ‘till the 16th of May. They brought Josh and Sam Doolin along with them.We did many things while they were here. On the 2nd of May we all went to the Baker Creek Seed Festival. We had the privilege of having our very busy cousin RG with us. We all had fun! We heard some bluegrass music, we ate at the very interesting restaurant there, and we had a fun time with friends and family. While they were here we also watched the movie Bleakhouse. We stayed up ‘till 2:00 to finish it one night! May 8th was Mother’s Day. We stayed home from Church because Granddaddy wasn’t feeling well, but we had a nice big breakfast that us girls prepared. Peter even helped! He juiced the grapefruit. After breakfast we had a lovely Church service. Granddaddy preached of course. When we had finished Church all of us except Papa, Granddaddy, and Grandmama went tubing. We had fun! After tubing we had a picnic. Sarah made Doughnuts for the picnic!! They were good!We also did many other things while they were here. RG, Matthew, Daniel, and RG’s beau, Esther Lipsy came out one night. That was fun! Another night just Matthew and Daniel came out. On one evening the boys and Granddaddy went fishing and when they got home we had a picnic. This past Friday, May 13th we went to some good friend’s house to play music with other believers. It was good! This past Sunday, May 15th after Church we went to the Bull Shoals Theatre to play our instruments. Grandmama, Mama and Aunt Ashley sang quite a few songs with us.There are always birthdays when the Grandparent’s come up. There were 5 this time. We celebrated Rose’s 10th birthday as well as Grandmother and Granddaddy’s birthdays with a party and Key Lime Pie. Rose was very happy to have her Grandparent’s there for it. We also celebrated Peter and Matthew’s 18th birthdays. The adults went out with them to a restaurant. I’m sure that they had an enjoyable time.Spring time is also the time of welcoming new birth into the world. Grandmama and Granddaddy were able to be here to welcome 2 additions to our farm. On May 3rd our cat gave birth to a big white kitten. On the very next day May 4th, our Jersey gave birth to a beautiful little heifer calf. Both our babies are healthy and very cute.We were sad to see our visitors go, but I trust we’ll see them in June for a conference.
Hopefully a post with more pictures will be forthcoming!
