Wow...We have been pretty negligent in our blog posts of late. At least I have. I don't think I've actually done a post in 2 or 3 months...but..I'm baack!! This blog post will contain the happenings of late on the Discher homefront. Enjoy!

Home
is where the Emma is...
Caught!!
"Emma Jane Helper" (as she recently dubbed herself) is helping Markie with the dishes
"Next...I'm ready!"
When Mary, Mrs. Tanner and Sarah "Scheme"
Parties appear :):)
While sitting at a resturant on a cool day after a performance, Mary and Sarah began to cook up a plan for the evening.
The result??
FIRE!!!!
We informed the Stricklens that they were hosting a bonfire that evening. :):)
(Not really...We politely asked them if they would be in favor of it)
Some...wild people...collecting sticks for marshmallows.
Matthew feeding the fire
It doesn't look like he minds too much :)
The adults sipping hot apple cider and eating fresh applesauce cake.
Park Time!!
One afternoon, after school work was completed, Mama and Aunt Molly took the littles to the park down the road.
They coulda' been twins
Two little monkeys
Even Paul got in on the "action"! :)
Birthdays
at the Waldmans!!
Recently we attended the birthday party of Chelsea, Mariah and Isaac
Preparing the hot dogs
Sweet Chelsea got a violin for her birthday!!
(My first student) :)
Getting a tour of the farm
Our tour guide--Ryan
What a cute birthday girl!!
What a personality little Mariah has!!
I just love parties!!
(Yes Mary..we know)
All of the little ones coaxing Isaac into eating his cake rather than growling at it
As part of the meal, there was a chili cook-off. We won!!
The prize was a delicious, home made apple pie!! It was so good.
Another party at the Waldmans
though a little different this time...
I will spare you the gross pictures (How many times does butchering have to make the blog, right?) :)
We had a lot of fun with their sweet family.
Time for some fun after all that work!!
(We did 75 chickens in good time that morning)
Brother and Sister
So photogenic!!

Nice post Sarah!
I agree, butchering does not need to make the blog EVERY time! ;)
I love that pic of William and Emma at the park.
Love,
Mandy
who thinks we need to have another fire soon! :D
Chicken butchering? YEE HAA! (Experienced butcherer. :) ) I also see the Waldmans use Joel Salatin's ideas for chicken pens. That's what we use too. Are those Cornish Cross? (My family's preferred breed!) There's little more satisfying meals than chicken - fried especially.
We usually do broilers over the summer, but we were preparing for my sister's wedding so we didn't this year.

OK, back to researching for debate. (Cough, choke.)
Great post! Enjoyed it as usual!
I loved the picture of Will and Emma as well. But little Paul was so cute too!
Yes, we need another bonfire - but we can save that for when we all head to the north this Christmas!
Love,
Aunt Molly
Isn't "Emma Jane Helper" cute! She has quite the personality, doesn't she?
The butchering posts are nice, I don't ever mind reading them. Besides, the pictures are usually too far away to see anything gross.
Love,
Aunt Katie
What a nice "this and that"! We are missing those babies (Emma and Paul) but we are thrilled to have their sisters with us! And it was so sweet to watch Sarah giving Chelsea her violin lesson after church yesterday -- the more fiddlers, the better! Hurry home, Dischers! We miss you!
Love,
Grandmother, who is
excited to be getting
some more boxes of
Arkansas apples!
