We have been fairly busy these past few weeks. With what? (Other than preparing herbal remedies for respiratory problems over and over again) Ask me not for I know not what, however be assured, we have been busy.
The Tanners kindly informed us a while back that there were oodles of guavas growing right down the road! A few days later, us girls (and Mama) packed in the truck and headed over to "Bring our food from afar"
Ah! Laden with fruit
"Have a guava!"
Did you get it??
Heading over
A unique fruit
The next day, Emma and I prepared them all and put them in the freezer to be eaten at our leisure, used in smoothies, or made into jam.
"H.H."
Happy Helper
Very colorful fruit!!
What a blessing!!
~~Random Pictures~~
What is that I see??
It begins to show itself.
A bird? A sloth? An ape??
Nay, but a man!!
A Peter doing his school!
What could be more fun than playing music on a warm (closer to sweltering) summer night
And then a game of Pente
Some play...
While others play.
Of course the majority were playing.
Making creative designs is much more fun than playing the game!
Or not so creative...
Emma had such fun "helping" me!!
~Learning~
One day, I was just sitting there, and Emma rushed past me. A few minutes later she emerged with one of her diapers in her hand.
She promptly began to "put it on" her baby doll.
Hmmm...
This does not look right!!
~Meet Mr Caterpillar~
He was such a friendly fellow
Such a ham with the camera!
Of course, in the end, Mr. Caterpillar had to go. He had just fallen in love with my garden.

Emma Jane and the chicken
A tale of a poor pullet and an overly-esctatic toddler
...well, not a tale exactly, but a...ballad...
Tune similar to that of "A little man named Freddie" (Some will get this, some will not. Inside joke, you know?)
Once there was a little girl, named Emma.
She lost her way, and couldn't find her ... um ...
Well...not a ballad exactly... but a...series of picures!
"Oh look! A chicken."
"Let's pick it up!"
(This is where I start feeling bad for the poor chicken)
"Wow!!"
"Aaaaaaa!!"
(This is the part in the series where Emma discovers that chickens have feet)
--note to all concerned readers--
Emma didn't get hurt, only shocked!
(note the expression on her face!)
The End
(Of the story. I mean ballad. I mean series of pictures)
~~Lively silent movie music playing~~
And so another blog post ends.
~Sarah~
(To all who may still be wondering, Emma did eventually get that diaper on the baby-with a little help)

We LOVE the silent ballad series of pictures of "Emma and the Chicken." It is the so, so adorable!! Poor baby, I hope she didn't get injured by the chicken feet.
Love you all,
The Pollock Fam
Hmmm . . . here is my guess:
Stylized AKDA -- Kitty
Diamond in Square -- Gracie
ME -- Pete
Heart -- Kitty
Loops --Sarah (she always puts this on letters, etc.)
Flowers -- Grace
And the H.H. is just so cute! What a smile! Except she didn't look to happy when that chicken didn't cooperate! Hey, where else can you go pick yummy fruit by the side of the road while the rest of the country is battening down for the winter!?
Oh, and Mr. Caterpillar! He was almost as cute as H.H.! You have to look at him a second to see his cute little face! (Cute, as long as he in on YOUR arm, not mine!)
But especially cute was that Man Doing School In Tree! Cute, Pete!
Love, Grandmama
Oh, My Stars! I always hate it when I read other people doing this:
"...she didn't look to happy..."
I MEAN:
"...she didn't look TOO happy..."
My favorite place to visit!
That photo of Markie, Rosie and Emma, how can it not put a smile on someone's face :) To the 3 of you, "Whoop-ie!", the worst is over!
Day by day, and with each passing moment,
Strength I find to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father's wise bestowment,
I've no cause for worry or for fear.
He, whose heart is kind beyond all measure,
Gives unto each day what He deems best,
Lovingly its part of pain and pleasure,
Mingling toil with peace and rest.
Every day the Lord Himself is near me,
With a special mercy for each hour;
All my cares He fain would bear and cheer me,
He whose name is Counsellor and Pow'r.
The protection of His child and treasure
Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
"As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,"
This the pledge to me He made.
Help me then, in every tribulation,
So to trust Thy promises, O Lord,
That I lose not faith's sweet consolation,
Offered me within Thy holy Word.
Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
E'er to take, as from a father's hand,
One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
Till with Christ the Lord I stand.
For weeks now I've wondered where the hurricane deposited that young man that briefly blurred across the screen durring Kitty Steinburg's "Eye of the Storm Report". Thanks for clearing up this mystery. It seems to me he would have fit right in with the Swiss Family Robinson living up in the tree like that all these weeks...
Nice post!! :)
We have not gone picking yet, maybe we will get around to that on Sunday.
Em is adorable (as always) with that chicken and her baby!
I love the "Pente Art"
I had fun cleaning with y'all today! :) I am scared to see the pics you post from that! :D
See ya soon!

Here are all the answers!!!
AKDA was Kitty (Who woulda' known!?!)
The creative diamond in the square was Gracie
"ME" was peter
and the last three were Sarah's (Heart, Loops and Flowers)
And for all who were a bit concerned, Emma was not harmed in the least by the chicken's feet. :)
