Within the confines of this little cyber-world, you will encounter mind boggling facts (doubtful), side splitting humor (more doubtful), artifacts of great historical significance (we have a lot of old family photos to bore you with), and maybe you will even come across some genuine German/Canadian stuff

(Got your curiosity up, eh?!?)

Of the nine in this family, I am the Canadian. I am out numbered 9 to 1 by Americans. The odds are still in my favor. I am after all, "The Father." Join me on our wonderful journey.

Silver Dollar City Vacation.

On May 28th and 29th, we Discher's and Matthew and Daniel took a trip to Silver Dollar City in Branson. We were one of 21 bands that were chosen to compete at the KSMU Youth in Bluegrass contest. The Folks at Silver Dollar City were so nice and treated us to a 4 day pass there. We went for 3 days and had a wonderful time there!

We heard some good bands, and met alot of nice family bands, including the Stockdale family band, the Full Quiver, the Wintons, the River Berry Players, the Amos Family, the Majerus family band, the Costello Family, the Burie Family, the Petersens and the Baker family which was an awesome group with kids no older than 12!

We were very inspired and are determined to improve and try again next year!

I will now privilege you with the pictures of this very fun vacation:)

Our faces don't look very animated do they. Probably because we were going on a ride that we had gone on about 3 times before, again. The "Flooded Mine" was the only ride open while it was raining.

" Bye Bye! I'm not stopping!"

"Hey! Wait up Sarah!"
The precious little angels just loved their stroller:)
This the entrance to the "Flooded Mine".
Sweet picture of Papa and Sarah:)
Well, Rose enjoyed it:)
Papa enjoyed it too:)
This must've been the first couple times:):)

Paul was fascinated with the guns:):)
" Isn't this fun??!!!!!!"
Matt,Daniel and Kitty went on the "Powder Keg",
a ride that goes from 0 to 53 MPH in 2.8 seconds.

And they're off! Daniel's face was sooo funny when they took off!

My lovely parents:)

Paul didn't want to leave the bear when the ride was over. He wanted to take it with him:)

The two cool cowboys:)

My remarkable brother and I :)

My oldest and youngest sister:)

Grace:)
If you'll notice in the far right corner, that's our friendly neighborhood
conductor. He waved and greeted us every time we passed the Train Station.

Paul's still pouting about his lost bear:)

Cousins have a friendly conversation while the train is being robbed;)

These are the "robbers"

After the " American Plunge". It was a fun ride:):):):):)

Our residence while we stayed Branson. We stayed at Ms Gladys' Bed and Breakfast once in 2005, and another time in 2008. She's a very sweet lady that loves our family and we love her.

The geese were quite numerous. Paul and Emma loved them!:)

The swing. Paul loved that as well:)

Paul got a little intimidated when the geese realized he didn't have anymore crumbs for them. Here Grace comforts him.

Mama and Ms Gladys talk.

Here, Daniel,Grace,Rose, and I play I Spy.

There was a jam Saturday night for all the contestants. We enjoyed playing with other young people.

More jammers.

They also had square dancing in which Matthew and Daniel were kind enough to be Grace's and my partners.

Kitty gladly joined in on the music for the dancers.

Mr. D.A. Callaway even joined us on the upright bass!
He is the man who organizes the KSMU youth and bluegrass contest.

"AAA!!! AAA!!! UGH!" translated, "Me Chief Gustave. Why you take picture of me? I not like it. You go away, or else I shoot!"

" Oh! There a goose for supper!"

Chief Gustave fences with Daniel.

Here we are performing
The first day Rosie and Emma sang "Y'all Come" Everybody loved it
These next few pictures are from day 2. Here Pete plays Foggy Mountain Breakdown

Mama and the girls sang Hear the Voice of My beloved

Peter tells his mine shaft joke. Everybody laughed
Rosie and I sing Boil Them Cabbage Down

Then we did a little dancing

Grace's turn to play a break on Boil Them Cabbage

The whole gang together.
The Henleys took this picture. They came out to watch us play and took us to lunch. We also went to the Cleverly's show with them. They are really funny. We enjoyed spending time with the Henleys while we were there.

Here's a video of our performance on Saturday. We learned a lot from the other bands and did much better on Sunday:):)

I hope you enjoyed my narration of our trip to Silver Dollar City:)
It was a lot of fun!

It was wonderful meeting your family at the CHEF conference! It is so fun to meet people I have sort of ''gotten to know'' through blogging!
I will be posting on my blog about the Conference and ball soon...
But for now, here is a link to a friend's blog. I thought you'd enjoy the videos he has up. I saw Grace a lot in the video of the ''Spanish Circle Waltz''!
Enjoy!
