We have all been rather overwhelmed lately and have had so little time for blogging or even keeping up with all the wonderful blogs we love to keep up with!
I know that those of you on facebook have up to the minute news from my 2 addic...I mean diligent daughters who do have a facebook account. Since their facebook accounts are available for viewing by any member of the family at any time, we are able to keep up vicariously through them :)
For those who haven't journeyed into this nebulous virtual world, I am posting a very brief update of our lives. We did move. My generous father has purchased 223 beautiful acres in Missouri and given easy of his children 50 of those acres! Furthermore he has allowed our family and my brother's family to live in the 2 homes already on the farm until we are able to build our own home on our 50 acres. A kindet father could not be found!!! The day after we arrived, our family journeyed a few hrs North where Eddie and Peter attended an excellent Men's Advance conference hosted by Covenant Family Church in Troy, MO. We ladies had the privilege of meeting other ladies who were there with their men. The day after the conference the church opened up their doors to all of us visitors. What sweet fellowship we had meeting so many precious families! Praise the Lord. Perhaps...we will get around to blogging it!
We are slooooowly settling in and enjoying the extra space. Our previous home was considerably smaller than this house, so it's been nice to spread out a bit.
A brief 2 1/2 weeks after arriving we found that Eddie needed to return to Florida to take care of a number of business matters, so our entire family (less Peter and Kitty) headed South again just in time for the due date of little our nephew, little Stricklen #7! The baby hasn't arrived yet, but we are believing that the Lord providentially made a way for us to be here for his birth! We will return on Monday, Lord willing.
So...there's a very brief summary of the Lives and Times of the Discher Family. Hey! Maybe that would make a good title for a new blog since NO ONE HAS OFFERED ANY REAL SUGGESTIONS!
If you're in Polk County, you are invited to come out to my parents' home at 7:00 TONIGHT for a Patriots meeting where Ben Albritton (candidate for Florida House) will be the keynote speaker!
Below is a summary of my Father's invitation.

Below is a summary of my Father's invitation.
Dear Patriots:
Recently, I spent 1-1/2 hours with Ben Albritton in my office. The purpose of the meeting was to better understand his philosophy, integrity and values. For far too long, I think we as conservatives have been focusing simply on issues. The candidates have often said they will support or oppose certain issues, and we elect them based upon their positions on those issues. Once elected, only then do we find that they truly embraced neither the values nor the integrity to represent our position.
After spending considerable time with Ben and asking the hard questions, I believe he has the integrity to stand against the powers that be. In both his family life as well as his business, I believe Ben embraces those values that we hold dear.
My purpose in writing is to ask your assistance in getting Ben elected. Too often we, as conservatives, talk a great deal about the issues, but do little to affect the selection process. Well, here is your opportunity.
We are planning to have Ben Albritton in my home as our key speaker on March 19 at 7:00 p.m., and I would like you to attend to demonstrate to him and this community that we are serious about changing the course of government at the grassroots level. In addition to Ben, we will also host Mr. Terry Pittman, candidate for Polk County School Board, and Mr. John Hall, candidate for Polk County Commissioner. These two men will speak briefly by way of introduction.
In closing, there will be a presentation regarding the status of the Tenth Amendment movement in Florida, and you will learn how this strategy can be an effective weapon in preventing increased domination by the federal government. Light refreshments will be served, so bring your questions and join us for an enjoyable and informative evening.
Thank you.
